Zehren and Associates, in collaboration with Ecosign Planning, was instrumental in the design of many of the key buildings within Chongli Thaiwoo Ski Resort, including several hotels and a luxury condominium/ spa. Building from this experience, Zehren was then engaged to design the new Nan Ditch Condominium building within the next phase of Thaiwoo, in an area named nan ditch which means “south drainage.” This immense, 10-story building is several hundred feet long and contains over 400 residential units and resort amenities. The architectural design of the exterior focuses on reinforcing the context of the place and breaking up the large façade, using stepped massing, varying natural materials, and soft organic colors. Steeper roofs give the building a “chalet” feel, which helps it to nestle itself amongst the ski slopes of Thaiwoo.
