Casino de la Selva is located within the picturesque village of Cuernavaca in the mountains above Mexico City.  The twenty-five acre site was master planned by Zehren and Associates to recreate pedestrian streets and plazas lined with shops, restaurants, and hotels that historically characterized “Ciudad Pequena.”

The Master Plan creates a pedestrian village that is anchored by the Grand Hotel and Mural Hall.  Activity is focused on the Grand Promenade...a tree-lined park that recalls the heritage of earlier Cuernavaca.  A variety of small streets and plaza areas are lined with residential villas, bungalows, and artist studios.

The “Architectural Theme” is based on the blend of Colonial Spanish and Contemporary Mexican influences found within the charming city of Cuernavaca.  Plaster walls, tile roofs, artistic iron details, carved wood columns and beams, spirited colors, covered verandas, and enclosed courtyards are used to create a strong sense of place that recalls the historic appeal of Cuernavaca.
