Maisi was born and part-raised in Colorado and grew up in rural East Texas where she discovered her love for the natural world. She attended Colorado State University where she achieved her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. After graduation, she joined Zehren and Associates as the newest member of the Landscape Architecture/Planning team. She is passionate about serving mountain communities of the Southern Rockies through the creation of place-based designs that educate and connect people with nature.

Maisi believes that the aesthetic and spatial aspects of culture are shaped by the natural environment in which it develops, and employs this ideology by exploring new ways in which natural and man-made materials interact. She is inspired by designers such as Luis Barragan and Fay Jones, and enjoys employing color and light creatively in her designs. During her free time, Maisi enjoys a range of outdoor activities such as backpacking, skiing, cycling, mountain biking, paddling, and studying the ecosystems that constitute her home.
