Carolyn always considered design to be a hobby or passion. It wasn't until her early twenties that she realized there was a possibility to pursue a career in what she loved to do. She is still thrilled to explore the potential of a new space and admire the process of design. She was born and raised in the Vail Valley where her interest in design inspired her to leave the mountains to study at Francois-Xavier Garneau in Quebec, Canada. After nearly a decade of training and traveling, Carolyn returned to the Vail Valley to settle down and focus on her career.

Carolyn has concentrated experience in both hospitality and residential design, specifically in resort communities. She has a creative side, in additional to being realistic and organized. She believes that good design strikes a perfect balance between being aesthetically pleasing and practical. She strives for this balance of form and function within the spaces she creates, while evoking the senses and story of the space. Carolyn has a strong base of experience on projects throughout the Vail Valley, surrounding areas, as well as internationally.

Carolyn has contributed her vast experience in Interior Design to the Zehren Design Team and has been a key contribution to numerous projects with Zehren & Associates including the Chongli Four Seasons Destination Resort in central China and The Blake at Taos Ski Valley in Taos, New Mexico. Carolyn enjoys cooking and spending quality time with friends and family over a good glass of wine.
