Old Greenwood Village will join Northstar Village, The Highlands, and Meadow Brook as an identifiable resort community within the Tahoe Mountain Region. The vision of Old Greenwood is one of an active, year-round resort village built with care and sensitivity through architecture and landscape that reflects the Lake Tahoe heritage and blends into the natural setting.
Zehren and Associates’ role in the development of Old Greenwood Village has included the authoring of the design guidelines, village planning, and the architectural design of individual buildings within the community. The village plan has carefully located residences to rest lightly within the landscape, while establishing higher density in the village core to preserve open space in other areas of the project.
Zehren and Associates is currently designing several of the public and residential buildings within the village. These projects include a lodge building, a 16,700 s.f. pool and fitness facility, a golf clubhouse and pro shop, fractional fee cabins, and multi-family residences. The Old Greenwood Village vision is one of responsible care for the environment and sustainability of the architecture. To this end, the public buildings in the community will be designed to achieve LEED green building certification.
