Responding to the vision of the Ranch at Cordillera, the design style for Trailhead is based upon the heritage of its location in the mountains of the American West. The architectural character is expressed with simple building and roof forms and a direct use of natural materials which are an outgrowth of their setting...massive stone abutments, heavy log trusses, log post-and-beam framing, and hand-hewn wood siding and trim are materials which are used to respond to the design theme and provide an appropriate scale to the surrounding mountains. Wood porches and sandstone decks are provided for overlooking the swimming pools, spa, and playground areas as well as the expansive long range views to the Gore Range and Upper Eagle Valley.
